Tierz: Privacy Policy

Who this is for

Tierz is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and a report of an underage user is removed.

What we collect

Only what you give us, and what the features below need:

• Profile and quiz answers: your first name, gender, age, height, weight, religion, whether you want kids, lifestyle and health answers, appearance answers, and (for men) income and money you have.
• Photos: face photos, and for women a photo of you on your scale (with the check code) to verify your weight.
• Identity and income verification: your government ID (and a selfie) is checked by Persona, and your income by Plaid. We receive only the result (passed or not, the ID type, the date of birth and height printed on the ID, and the verified income figures), not the images or your bank login.
• Location: the ZIP code you enter (to find people within 100 miles and a meeting place between you), and your phone's GPS position when you check in at a meetup and when you start monthly relationship maintenance (to confirm you and your match are in the same place).
• Chat and relationship maintenance: the messages you send, and what you type during relationship maintenance (goals, answers, notes).
• Safety: reports you file (who, why, and any details you add) and the people you block.

How we use it

To work out your score and rank, to match you with people on your level and near you, to verify your information, to run chat, meetups and relationship maintenance, to review reports and keep the community safe, and to answer your support requests.

Who sees it

Your match sees your first name, your score and verified marks, your approximate distance, and what you send them in chat and maintenance. Nobody sees your ID or your exact income figures.

Photos and ID: your ID and selfie go straight to Persona, and bank details go straight to Plaid. They handle them under their own privacy policies. Your photos are used to work out your score; if a feature shows a photo to someone, it is only to your match.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use no third-party advertising or tracking tools.

Where it is stored

This version of Tierz stores your data on your own device. Features that need a server (real matches, chat delivery, verification, safety review) send the data described above to our servers and to Persona and Plaid.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete your account any time: Settings, then Delete account. This permanently erases your profile, answers, photos, matches, chat, verification results and settings, and cannot be undone. Reports you filed about other people are kept so they can be reviewed, but they contain none of your profile data.

Persona and Plaid keep their own records under their own policies; contact them to delete those.

Reports and blocking

Tierz has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours, and content and accounts that break our rules are removed. You can report and block anyone you are matched with.

Location

GPS is only read when you tap a button that needs it (check-in at a meetup, or start maintenance). We use it once to compare positions and do not track you in the background.
